Journey to Jail or Hell!
Milani, a little ghetto black girl lost in the streets of the hood. Born in Baltimore, Maryland and raised in the “Big Apple”. She takes the steps of her big brother Milano and proves to the streets that ladies better yet women can be hustlers too. Milano got out the game years back and became a lieutenant in the 12th district of police head quarters in New York. As Milani takes her journey among life, life takes its journey amongst her.
“ Temperatures rising, And your body’s yearning for me, Girl lay it on me, I place no one above thee, Oh take me to your ecstasy. It seems like your ready.”
Milani singed along to one of her favorite songs, while cooking pasta, breaded chicken breast, corn, and mustard greens for Anthony. Anthony was her new boyfriend; they had been dating for a while now. Almost one year, but Milani wasn’t quite sure that she was all that into Anthony. Word on the street was that Anthony was slanging major rocks. Yes it was very true, but unlike other hustlers, Anthony had a dream of someday getting out the game. Setting the dinner table, Milani dazed off remembering the days when she couldn’t even find her a place to rest her head. The world was out to eat and shit people like her. Milani wasn’t having it though, she managed to show others and prove to her brother that she can become a better hustler than the late “Angelo Roberts”. Moving weight was never an option for Milani it soon became her life at the sweet age of twelve. One day Milani happened to be roaming the “Big Apple”, and happened to bump into this old time Pimp name “Joe Diamonds”. Joe gained the name from the ice he flossed on him daily. After bumping into Joe Diamonds, Joe stared at Milani. He couldn’t quite put his finger on it, but he knew the girl had potential. After seeing Milani on a few more occasions Joe had to make it mandatory to speak with Milani about hustling.
Walking down Amsterdam and West End, Milani noticed a black Maserati following her. Not taking her eye off the car, but keeping a steady pace on her boosting journey, Milani continued to make money. That’s exactly why Joe needed her on his team, yeah he understood that she was only twelve, but she had a mind of an old time gangster. Pulling up aside her and a few of the local hood rats, Joe made his move. “Pour out a little liquor, bury me in some Evisu jeans ,A USDA top and a throw-away glock Bury me a G, nothing more nothing less When I get where I’m going, I just gotta be fresh”. Milani rapped along to Young Jeezy’s song “Bury Me a G”. Joe got out his car and slowly approached Milani. “Excuse me, but I was wondering if you would like a nice paying job?” Milani was wondering who in the world was this pimp talking to because she damn sure wasn’t about to be one of his main hoes. Joe didn’t quite get into the proposition but he made sure that he whispered a bug into Milani’s ear and passed her his card. “The beginning of time” was all Milani could say, realizing that Anthony would be home in less than 12 minutes Milani had begun to vacuum the house.
“Trapping ain’t dead, these niggas just scared”. Anthony singed along to young jeezy’s song. Anthony walked into Milani’s apartment and made his way to their bedroom. He sat on the bed and thanked the lord for a hard and blessed day of trap money. Anthony had begun to undress, counting his money; Anthony was glad that he had made over $10,000 only in a days work. He was finally close to his goal and wanted out of the trap. Anthony had been through hell and back growing up back in Chicago. He moved to New York for better drug resources. His cousin Benny introduced him to Joe Diamonds back when Ant was 18.
Anthony had a great plan ahead of him. He wanted out of the trap and wanted to become an entrepreneur. His plan for Milani was yet to be achieved. He had planned on marrying Milani, moving out of New York, and continuing life back in Chicago. There three things that Anthony needed to do to put his plan into movement. One he needed to find out where was Milani getting so much money from, second he needed to get rid of Joe Diamonds, and third he needed to clean up his background he had been accounted of four different felonies. Anthony came out the room only to find Milani cleaning up like Yvette off “Baby Boy”.
Milani knew that there was no way in the world that Anthony would accept the fact that Joe Diamonds wasn’t the enemy, but that she was. Joe Diamonds gave up the game back when she was only fourteen. She was making 20 million a year and transporting cocaine to local drug dealers across the United States. It was said that Milani was the next George Jung, a Columbian cocaine importer. Yet, many stated that she was 30 times better than Jung, because she didn’t stand a chance of getting caught.
Milani stopped the vacuum and briskly walked over to Anthony and gave him a long passionate kiss. Anthony has been thinking about Milani ever since last night when he was on the block making ends meet. Milani wasn’t worried like her very close friends that she had, she knew that Anthony loved her and he wasn’t going anywhere. She was right where Anthony wanted and needed to be and he clearly understood that.
As Milani prepared Anthony’s plate she talked to him and asked everyday questions. Anthony wasn’t really into his woman being all into the street game, after anything felt that Milani didn’t know what the streets were about. Little did he know Milani knew everything that Anthony knew and didn’t know. Milani was that type of woman that made it known to “never judge a book by its cover”, but Anthony didn’t know.
Milani met Anthony back when he was just nickeling and diming. Milani and Anthony were never seen without each other hand by hand. People in the projects had begun to call them “Def Love”. Meaning, Milani and Anthony were the definition of true love. Milani always said that “sometimes love can be painful even sweet, but what is love if it isn’t meant to be”. Anthony always knew that Milani would be his back bone even if things went wrong. Anthony knew that money made people happy, but when the money’s gone who’s there to feel in that lonely spot in your heart. Milani answered every question that Anthony had based upon life. Life is way better when you take a minute to appreciate the small things. Milani’s feelings were what counted most to Anthony.
Milani knew that dealing had become a way of making money, but when the money is low there is no more fast life. So unlike others Milani saved up every amount of her money that she made and established many unknown businesses. Anthony ate his dinner and thanked Milani for such a delicious dinner. After cleaning up the dishes Milani sat upon her couch and watched some television with Anthony. Anthony turned off the TV and turned towards Milani and asked her if he died would she mind moving on without him.
Milani answered Anthony and said yes she would move on without him, but she’ll never forget him. After having an emotional conversation Anthony and Milani ended their night with long passionate sex. Milani awakened to Anthony’s phone, answering the phone with an attitude, Milani asked who it was. The caller was very rude and disrespectful, he wanted to speak with Anthony, and he told Milani that Anthony was as dead in his eyes as ground turkey.
Milani made it her business to find out what kind of trouble that Anthony had gotten himself into. Lying back down, Milani couldn’t head back to sleep, she was studying Anthony’s phone call. Finally falling asleep, Milani woke up to an empty bed. Anthony woke up at around 5 to head right back out to the streets. Milani got dressed and headed out to go meet up with Joe diamonds. Joe had called Milani a week ago to establish a day that they could meet to discuss something that was eating Joe alive.
Anthony sat in his car and watched Joe diamonds on what seemed to be an important phone call. Anthony was ready to make his move and kill Joe, but he wanted to make sure that Joe was the real killer in Anthony’s mother death. Anthony exited his car and made his way towards Joes 2 flat. Walking up to Joe, Anthony started off with a conversation, Joe seemed a little skeptical as to how Anthony knew his resident. Anthony asked “what is a man, if a man kills an innocent woman?” Joe answered back “shit but a coward!”
Anthony fired his weapon at Joe diamonds. Joe just turned around and faced his killer and asked why me and why now? Milani had been very skeptical meeting up with Joe diamonds on a late notice, but she managed to make things happen. On her way over she could’ve sworn that the blue Chevy that almost caused her to have an accident was Anthony’s, but then again she could’ve been tripping.
As Milani made it into Joe’s driveway she noticed a body lying by Joes Aston martin. Milani rushed out of her car and made her way towards the body, noticing that it was Joe diamonds she immediately called the police. After being on a crime scene for almost two hours Milani found out that Joe diamonds was her biological father. Milano raced to where his younger sister was said to be at.
Milano was very upset that his sister had found out that their real father was a pimp and had his daughter become a queen pin. Milano had taken Milani from the scene and explained why their mother never really spoke upon their father. Back at home Anthony packed up his things and headed towards the door. Looking back on what use to be his favorite place in the world Anthony couldn’t believe his life was about to be over. Milano told Milani that the feds was on to her, yea it was true when you hustling you bound to get caught.
Just as Anthony made his way to his car he was being pulled out by three guys all wearing the logo FBI. Anthony just knew that it was all over now. As Milano and Milani was leaving the premises Milano told Milani that he loved her and that he hate to do what he was about to do. Milani looked at him with a confused face, just when she was about to speak she was being knocked to the ground and hand-cuffed.
Back at the station Milani sat in a room hand-cuffed right next to Anthony. Both didn’t acknowledge the presence of one another. An officer walked in and un-cuffed both Milani and Anthony. Walking them into the interrogation room Milani and Anthony sat down and were interrogated by an undercover officer. They knew the fast life was over with, no more flashing money, no more high paid trips, no more freedom. They were hauled off to Rikers Island.
Milano felt extremely bad for setting up his sister. It was in Joe diamonds will that every hustler can’t live the straight life; it just isn’t meant to be. Milano knew that Milani took her street credibility from Joe, but he didn’t want his sister to let the fast money faze her. As Milani sat in her cell she realized that her life had lived the right way. Who other than Milani could have moved so much weight and made it to prison or to even be blessed in the streets.
Neither Anthony nor Milani rotten in prison both lived prison life to the fullest. Word on the street was true you can take the hustler from the streets, but you can’t take the streets from the hustler. In different units but in the same prison, Milani and Anthony said their favorite speech; “Heavenly father, please hear me tonight. I need so much guidance to live my life right. Sometimes the pressure is too hard to bear. I often wonder if anyone cares. How can I wake up and face a new day, knowing I must live my life this crazy way? Heavenly father, forgive me for all my sins. Give me the strength to resist the wild life I desire. Help me escape temptation and the fire. Please my family whose eyes silently plead for me not to do wrong and they pray for me. God bless our mothers who cry every night, worrying that we’ll be killed by someone in a fight. Heavenly father, please answer my prayers. Please let me know that you’re up there listening. When will it end? What’s it all for? To prove to my homies I’m down; I’m hardcore? Sometimes I wonder how will I die…By a bullet wound or a knife in my side? Heavenly father, please hear me tonight. Show me the way lord; show me the light. Give my heart peace so I don’t have to fight. Thank you for your forgiveness, and for still being there. Most of all, thank you for hearing my prayer.” Now that my journey is almost complete its either “jail or hell?”, and I choose jail.
